This product design work was completed as my first design project at l’école de design de Nantes. At the beginning of this assignment, I started contemplating on how lamps and their shapes could help enriching the users daily life. In that sense, as an avid reader myself, I focused on creating a reading lamp that switches off itself when the book is placed on the lamp so the users could later look back to the page where they left at ease. Additionally, when the book is removed from the lamp, it switches back on to light up the environment.
